KDU College was established in 1983 and had since seen over 34,000 graduans. Many have successfully transferred to prestigious universities to further their studies and/or received employment from prestigious companies both locally and internationally.
With this in view KDU College had proposed to form an alumni body of KDU College. Through discussions and agreements between the KDU Management and alumni, 'Persatuan Alumni Kolej Damansara Utama' or 'KDU Alumni' as it is currently called was formed in 1996 where Mr. Lau Wen Bin became the first president and Mr. Tan Jing Kuan, the vice president. In 1997, KDU Alumni was registered with the Registrar of Societies of Malaysia as the alumni organisation of KDU.
Through the years, KDU Alumni actively promotes both indoor and outdoor activities to foster closer relationship between KDU and her graduates. Initial support of the alumni was great but over time it fizzles off with the change of leadership.
However, in 2007, KDU Alumni was re-established with the setting up of a new committe. The new committee revamped the Constitution as well as the organisation chart to meet the flow of time. Four new chapters were established under KDU Alumni and they are SASS Chapter (School of Arts and Social Sciences), SEST Chapter (School of Engineering, Science & Technology), SHTCA Chapter (School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts) and Penang Chapter (Penang Campus). Leading the new KDU Alumni is Jamie Morias and Suloshini Jahanath.
With our new revitalised mission and vision, KDU Alumni aims to network together all of KDU's past , present and future members by affording all members means of social interaction, mutual co-operation, assistance and networking.
