Meeting of old classmates and friends
Meeting of old classmates and friends
2 October 2009, Quattro Club, Kuala Lumpur - A Touch of ClazZ was our theme for our Annual Dinner Party cum AGM and our final event of our tenure. The event was attended by mostly Alumni members, Staff of KDU and family members. Ms. Suloshini, our out-going Vice President and Mr. David Tann, KDU's Marketing Manager were our MC of the night.

Our event began at 8:00 pm with the arrival of our VIP guests, Dato' Teo Chiang Quan, Executive Chairman of KDU College and Patron of KDU Alumni. To start off the night, we had an ice-breaker game, Passing the Parcel, where three parcels were passed around filled with questions. Music were played as the parcels were being passed

around and whenever the music stops, the person with the parcel would have to grab a question from the parcel and come to the stage and answer them. With the cheers from the crowd, and encouragement from friends, the victims went on staged and answered the questions.

Aftere the ice-breaker, we had our first lucky draw of the night followed by dinner. The prizes were sponsored by MYC, Giodano, EC-Council Academy, Ping Two Creative and PC.com. The food was tasty and the one that finished the quickest is the screwier. Everybody enjoyed themselves with food and beverages served.

At around 9:00 pm, we began our AGM with a speech from Dato' Teo and Mr. Jamie Morais, our out-going President. We went through the reporting and financials quickly and began our nomination for the new exco-committees. Each person is given three choices to elect the next line-up of committee.

While waiting for the results of the nomination, the second lucky draw was on the way and the grand prize winner went to Ms. Wati, a fully-paid 4D3N to Pulau Langkawi from Fortune Radius.

Finally, the time had come for the 2006 - 2009 exco-committee to step down and welcome the new exco-committees. Let us welcome the new exco-committees and support them in their endevours.

Before we sign-off, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you in supporting us throughout our tenure as the exco-committees and hoped you had enjoyed yourselves. We had executed a number of activities, though not huge, but it still meant a lot to us. Thank you and see you around when time and chance comes. Let us all support the new exco-committees in their direction and activities. Cheerios!

Pool Competition
Pool Competition - Sham (front) ready to shoot.

KDU Alumni's Foospool Challenge took off with a bang on 19 April 2008 at Breakers, Desa Sri Hartamas. This event was the alumni's first ever combined event, as not only were there 2 different games played that night, it was also co-organised by the SASS and SEST chapters.

At a cheap rate of RM25 per person (which included games and drinks), the simultaneous games began. Unfortunately, most of the EXCO were trounced out relatively early in the game(s), while the newer members of the Alumni were head to head in both competitions.

The winner(s) took back a dinner for 2 at Breakers, while a lot of the attendees opted to hang around and play for a little while longer.

If you missed the event this time around, don't miss it again! Join the KDU Alumni on Facebook and find out about our latest events and join us!

Otherwise, you can get in touch with the EXCO and we will gladly fill you in on all the details!

See you next round!

Participants of the Bowling Tournament
Participants of the Bowling Tournament - Posing for the camera... Say cheese!
The KDU Alumni's annual bowling tournament, organised by the School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS) took of with a bang as nine teams competed to be the best. Held on the 4th of November 2007 (Sunday) at the Curve's Pin Junction, the Alumni's Executive Committee and members were there in full force to support the SASS.

Amidst a fun-filled two hours of shouts of excitement and groans of dismay, the Alumni members' competitive spirit was high. A random mix of members ensured not only a good time, but the opportunity to meet new and old friends. At the end of the event, three lucky teams walked away with Jusco vouchers. While this was great in itself, the true aim of the event was to bring the members of the Alumni together, and we're glad to say that it was a good day for all involved.

If you're upset that you missed out on the fun, make sure it doesn't happen again! We're looking forward to seeing you (and your friends!) at our upcoming fun and exciting events. Next month, come join the Alumni EXCO in what promises to be our most exciting event yet, Rock Climbing! We'll keep you posted on the details. Spread the word, support your Alumni!

During the event, we witnessed the strong getting weak and the weak gettting stronger, especially when Ms. Suloshini of SASS Alumni started the ShootOut by eliminating the last enemy of the other team by a big surprise. From then on the ladies got stronger with Ms. Vivien Kuan from SASS as well finishing the whole event as the Best Female Award. The award for the men went to Mr. Sivajothi, Dean of SEST.

The prizes were Creative Multimedia Sets and even Phillips Headsets. At a reasonably priced RM50 per shooter, food and beverage was provided as well, not forgetting the fun (which is of course, priceless) everybody had!
